KDK Restaurants
KDK Restaurants is a restaurant management company operating in Chicago since the early 1990's and managing some of Chicago's finest boutique restaurants. A Brief History of KDK
Teaming up over 18 years ago on the opening and operation of Vivo restaurant in what was then an undeveloped West Loop, Howard Davis and Jerry Kleiner continue to lead the industry in developing successful and creative new restaurant concepts that certainly do not lack longevity. Davis and Kleiner are the primary owners and partners of KDK Boutique Hospitality (KDK). Kleiner and Davis have a proven track record of creating concepts that earn much applause and remain popular even years after opening. Since their first concept Vivo caused a culinary stir in 1991, Kleiner and Davis have established themselves as the creators of some of Chicago's most imaginative and respected restaurants. Their company, KDK, owns and operates Marche, a modern interpretation of a French Bistro, and Red Light, a pan-Asian hotspot, both in the Randolph Street Market District, as well as Gioco, authentic regional Italian cuisine, and Opera, contemporary Chinese, both in the South Loop. Always ahead of the times, the dynamic duo of Kleiner and Davis have been credited with pioneering both Randolph Street and the South Loop with these innovative dining concepts. Marche will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2008 while its sister restaurant across the street, Red Light, just passed its 10 year anniversary. Restaurants with this duration of history are almost unheard of in a city of revolving awnings and the latest new ventures. Continuing the KDK family of celebrations, Gioco in the South Loop will be eight years old in 2008 and Opera, which shares the neighborhood with Gioco, will be celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2008.
